Our Web Design Process
Proposal Acceptance – 50% Deposit Received
We request your hosting and domain name information. If you do not have a hosting company, we will recommend a credible and cost effective solution. If you are setting up your own hosting, you will be asked to utilize a linux based server.
Content Request Form Submitted to You
You may opt to provide all content or may ask us to copy edit the content that you provide.
The content requested usually includes your logo, any images that you’d like to include, a general outline of the services you provide, your unique positioning statement (or how you differ from your competitors), a description of the types of clients you are targeting, and any other information that would allow us to get a feel for your business, product or service and customer base. We also have a handy website planning form available.
The Good Work Begins: Research / Look and Feel
We then conduct keyword research, research your company and your competitors. We take what we’ve learned to the drawing board and get started. This phase includes the creation of “aesthetic home page designs”, which are flat files that will show you how we envision your site looking.
The website aesthetic is then presented to you for review. After review, we work closely with you to make any changes needed to create a look and feel that you love and feel accurately portrays your business and its personality.
During this process, we also work with you to compile the content for the rest of the site. You will receive a detailed content request form containing suggestions and the specific information that we need to complete the site.
Website Programming
This is the part of the process where we actually build your website using HTML and possibly a number of other coding languages. This stage also includes search engine optimization.
Website Testing
We perform stringent testing that takes about one week to ensure that the site looks perfect on all browser and on all operating systems. Each site that we build is tested so that the end products meets W3C standards.
Site is Submitted For Client Approval
The site is then placed on our test server and a link is forwarded to you for your review. We then consult with you to correct problem areas of the site, update content and make any other reasonable changes. If final site is approved, all stock imagery (if applicable) is purchased.
Post Live
Your website will be posted live to your hosting account at this time, meaning that it is ready to view on the web.
Site Marketing
If requested, we will recommend ways in which we can help you promote your site online. These suggestions may include: email marketing, article writing, directory submissions, etc…
**For blogs, e-commerce sites and content management systems – we will conduct a training session to make sure that you are comfortable with updating your new website.
